CreateAthoning is the practice of developing social impact communications in a turbo-charged environment. Its tenets are built on the CreateAthon® method, a 24-hour pro bono marketing marathon founded in the late 90s that inspired hackathons, sprints and other “done in a day” service movements. This 20+ page toolkit of guidelines and resources gives you everything you need to organize a successful pro bono marathon to benefit nonprofits and the critical issues they address on local, national and international levels.

The Art of CreateAthoning is designed for people in any area of marketing, communications, public relations, design and digital production — anyone who wants to put their creative talents to work for good, and to do that through an inspiring and fun model.

Inside, you'll find…

  • The case for pro bono marketing: why it matters and how your team can grow and benefit from an organized service model
  • Step-by-step instructions on organizing a pro bono marketing marathon, based on 25 years of best practices honed by more than 100 CreateAthon partner organizations
  • Specific resources to support the nonprofit recruiting, vetting and communications process; samples of effective promotions from successful partner organizations; scoping documents, and more
