MOOZ is the Zoom scavenger hunt game you’ve been looking for.
In a race against the clock, players compete to see who can earn the most points across five levels of play. Can you get a perfect score? MOOZ is a great fit for virtual get-togethers with friends, family, and co-workers!
A complete game of MOOZ consists of seven rounds of play across five levels. Before you begin, assign the role of referee to one player. The referee determines the condition(s) of each round of play, serves as the timekeeper, and keeps track of everyone’s points. Throughout the game, the referee will challenge each player to find something in their physical space that meets a series of conditions that are randomly selected using a six-sided die. Each player earns one point for every condition they meet. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
It was honestly one of the best virtual event's we've tried since the College transitioned to remote instruction in mid March, and provided an opportunity for participation from almost all of our students regardless of their technological access (which is something that several other activities we've tried have missed the mark on). – CCAC Student Life
To play MOOZ, the referee will need one six-sided die, a pen or pencil, and this toolkit (we recommend printing at least the scorecard to be able to write on). When you’re ready to play, invite a group of at least three people to join you on a Zoom call. Set aside 10-15 minutes if you’d like to complete all of the levels. If you only want to do one round, that’s OK! Each round takes approximately 1-3 minutes in total to complete. Let’s play!
Some rounds only require one condition to be met (like a specific color), while others require numerous conditions. Each player earns one point for every condition they meet. Here’s a quick example scenario. Let’s say the round called for finding something blue, square, and soft. The player above would receive two out of a possible three points. This is because their submission is square and blue, but not soft.
